Spring Break 2012

This March we decided to head to California and spend time with Rich and Julie. We all looked forward to this exciting week. We had a great time. Everyday was full and fun! Before we left we had a lot of snow. The kids had no school and late starts. Carter was also blessed to go to the Portland Temple for the first time with Grandma and Grandpa Newell. We then headed south to be with family. It was a great week!

Bailey, Paige and Hayden making a snowman on a late start school day.

Beautiful snow!

Madalyn and Carter going to the temple with their Dad and Grandma.

Handsome 12 year old.

The day we left, Matt and Carter dressed up as twins at school.

Visiting Dave and Christine in Grants Pass.

As we traveled, I bought a whole bunch of groceries so that we wouldn't have to stop and spend too much money. The kids did a great job passing food around and not complaining.

Preparing a cream cheese bagel.

A full car.

This was a common activity for the kids! Playing games on the IPad.

FairyTale Land.

My boys.

Sitting on the King's throne.

King Gannon and Hayden.

Madalyn took Anderson down the slide and she was more afraid than sweet little Anderson.

Gannon loved this rooster.

MaMa.

Gannon loved this slide too.

Cinderella's stage coach.

Choo Choo.

The yellow brick road.

Is that Dorthy?

Catching Anderson at the end of the slide.

Uncle Rich brought In & Out BURGERS for us.
Oh so good!
Matt loves this food.

The Sacramento Zoo.

Riding the zoo train.

Paige did not want to ride on the train. She wanted to ride on the Carousel.

Julie and Rich got us into the zoo with their passes.
It was a perfect little zoo. Not to big and not to small.

We all headed to San Francisco to take a trip out to Alcatraz.

Riding the Ferry over to the island.

Gannon stayed home with a babysitter while we spent the day in San Francisco.

Alcatraz.

I love this picture of Isabella, Paige and Bailey.
They are running up the ramp at Alcatraz.

Julie and Isabella.

Getting ready to go inside.

The recreation yard.

Prisoners.

The Warden's home.

This was one of the cell's of an Alcatraz escapee.

The prisoners made dummies that appeared like humans so that they could escape into the night!
Incredible.

The prisoners regulation #5:
This is my new theme to my children.

LEAVING ALCATRAZ

We ate lunch at Hard Rock cafe. It was pouring rain outside.
It felt so good to be protected from the rain as we ate.

We drove down the crooked road.
Lombard St.

Eating dessert at Giradelli's

Chinatown.

Matt and Rich took the kids to Scandia.

We had a wonderful dinner at Aunt Ann's house on Thursday night.
Aunt Ann was so gracious and made a great dinner.

The kids jumped in the jacuzzi.

Bailey, Carter and Hayden decided to jump in the freezing pool and then go jump back in the jacuzzi.

Carter freezing.

Hayden racing to get out.

Ahh warm again.

Aunt Ann and Uncle Heber.

Matt took the kids skiing at Boreal.

Driving home we listened to General Conference on Matt's IPhone.
Conference was amazing!!
The kids did a great job traveling. We stopped in Eugene for the night and stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Newell. Spring break was wonderful!
