Grandma and Grandpa come to see the kids play soccer! Madalyn gets BRACES.

This last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa came to Boring to watch the kids play soccer. With all 3 children playing, they had a full morning. Each of the kids were very excited to show off their skills and hear the cheers of their grandparents. The weather was so wonderful that Mom and I sat under an umbrella to watch them play. They each played very well. Thanks for coming up and seeing the kids play Mom and Dad!

After their soccer games we took this picture on the side of the house. I made Hayden put back on his jersey/shorts and he was not happy with me. He wanted to play Star Wars.

Paige was a little bothered that the big kids got a picture, so we had her and Gannon jump in there and get a picture with Grandma and Grandpa.

Right before jumping in the car, Dad took a shot at the basketball hoop at the house. We won't say if he missed it or made it.

Mom then took a shot and you can see that she made this one. Nice shot Mom.
MADALYN GETS BRACES

Over one year ago, our dentist told me he would like Madalyn to go in and see an orthodontist for a free consultation. I avoided it until, we had our cleanings in August 2010 and Hayden also received a recommendation to go and see an orthodontist. I took the kids in last week and Hayden is fine for right now, but the orthodontist recommended that Madalyn get braces on her teeth because of her deep overbite and crowding. She was so excited. She had always thought that glasses and braces would be so much fun. Well, we go them on Monday and she doesn't think that they are that much fun anymore. She has been a real trooper, but we have been trying to make sure that she is comfortable at school. This picture is her before shot and .........................

after shot. She got a light pink on her bands. She looks great!!

Ashlee's Baby Shower

This last weekend, with the help of Tricia and Mom, we had a baby shower for Ashlee and William. It was great fun and many women came to show their love and support for Ashlee. She got amazing gifts. Thanks for having a baby Ash!

A cute little outfit for William.

Mom made William a beautiful blanket that is very cozy. Ashlee might take it from him to sleep at night.

There were 5 babies at the baby shower. We are missing Tina's little one.

Of course, I have to show how much Gannon is growing. When we got home, I put Gannon in this little chair that my friend loaned me. He loves it and I love that it makes him happy.

Soccer season has begun!

It is official, the Newell family is busy every Saturday from here on out until Nov. 6th! Yes, soccer season has begun and we had 3 games on Saturday. Bailey played first, then Carter, and then Hayden. They all did a great job. This is Bailey's first season and she loves it. She is learning all about the sport very quickly! Carter and Hayden have played one year already and are doing great. It was a beautiful day to watch the kids play soccer. Way to go Bailey, Hayden and Carter.

This is Bailey between her two opponents dribbling the ball.

Her coach had her kick a corner kick and Bailey wanted to know if that was the direction that her coach wanted her to kick.

Oh Yeah! We are having fun. She looks like a cover girl in this picture for a sports magazine.

Next, it was Carter's game and he loves soccer very much. He is a good little athlete. He headed the ball 3 times and used that left leg very well. Sweet picture!

Carter has a teammate that looks a lot like him but don't be confused by the picture. Carter is the one on the left. I love this picture. Obviously, it is the one I chose to post!!

Last but not least, is our Hayden! Every picture I looked at to post, Hayden had a huge smile on his face even when he was battling for the ball or running down the field. That is what I love about our son, he is always happy. Good job buddy!!

Here is Hayden trying to take the ball away from his opponent. If you look closely look at that smile. I love it!!

School Year 2010-11

It is that time of year again when you feel butterflies and nerves. Not for me of course but for the children. That is not true, I am a little nervous and excited for them to start school again. The kids started school after Labor Day. The rain was coming down and cars were everywhere. We made it to the school right as the bell rang. I wanted to take all of the kids to their classrooms and say goodbye. Bailey saw her teacher from last year and said, "Mom can I go to her class." I said no and then she almost started to cry. It broke my heart. I thought about her all day and when she returned home she was a happy girl, I then knew that all would be ok. The boys were happy and enjoyed their new classes and seeing old friends. Paige and I are at home and Matt is working very hard at the High School. Wish us all luck!

Carter our big 5th grader.

Hayden our fearless 3rd grader.

Bailey our curious 1st grader.

This is Bailey sitting at her desk deciding what her picture will look like. After we left her room, the principal came over the intercom and said, "thanks for coming parents, we now need to get to work, so get out." It was pretty funny. I hurried upstairs to drop off the boys and gave them kisses.

SHHHH.....don't tell anyone but my son thinks that he is too old for pictures and embarrassing mom moments. I quickly snapped this picture before he reminded me again that "I am a 5th grader Mom, don't treat me like a baby."

Hayden could care less if I embarrass him and take his picture. He loves the spotlight. He was very excited to get Carter's teacher from last year.

On the way home with Gannon and Paige, I took out the camera and took a quick snap of Paige. Now it is Paige, Gannon and I all together making memories!!

Last but surely not least, Madalyn started school the day after the 3 younger ones. She looked beautiful and very excited to start her 7th grade year. She has had a wonderful summer and is ready to tackle her new classes and make new friends.

The 2nd day of school, I realized I didn't get a picture of all of the kids together. This was my last ditch effort. Work hard kids and enjoy these years!

Gannon's first camping trip to Honeyman!

This weekend we did our traditional trip to Honeyman State Park. Gannon had never been there except for in my womb, but now he was out and ready to see what this was all about. The kids and I left Friday morning and it took me 6 hours to get there. It is only a 3 hour drive, but we stopped many times for food, potty, and rest. The kids couldn't wait to get there and be with family and camping friends. Matt needed to work so he didn't come until Saturday late afternoon. My parents let me borrow their motor home and that made my life heavenly. Also, Amber and Aaron surprised us and showed up from Arizona. We had a great time camping. Once again!!!

It was a beautiful day at the beach. The wind was extremely mild and the sun was shining. I have not seen that very often at the beach. Usually the wind is very strong and blowing hard.
