Spring Break 2013

This year we decided to stay close to home for Spring Break! Carter was heading off to D.C. on Wednesday, so we left on Friday and spent 3 nights at Seaside with the kids. We had a great time. We swam, hiked, ate, went site seeing, watched TV, played in the sand, played games and had a BBQ.

When we started to drive to Seaside, it was overcast and cold.
On our way over the pass, we found snow.

Saturday morning walk with Bailey on the beach.

We went to Astoria and visited several sites. We saw the Column, swam at the aquatic center, ate lunch at Subway, drove over the bridge to Washington and stopped at Goodwill.

The bridge.

The Column.

Carter was terrified of heights. He did not want to go up the Column but we encouraged him to go. He held onto the column like a bear hug the entire time. It made me sad that we had him go.

Paige and Gannon mimicking Carter.

On the way down, the kids wanted to roll down a hill.
Gannon and I followed.

Relaxing after a long day outside.

Sunday night we took a walk to the beach after church.
It was the prettiest day. The sky was blue and the wind was light.

We walked to Lewis and Clark's Salt Works historic site.

Walking down the boardwalk with the kids.

At the beach, Bailey and Hayden found crab legs.
They stunk!

Madalyn and I sat and visited on the beach.

On our morning walk, Matt took this picture of me walking.
It doesn't look real.

Out on the beach.

Before we headed home, we stopped at our favorite taffy store and got salt water taffy and ice cream.

Saying good-bye to Seaside.

On the way home, I was driving because Matt wasn't feeling well.
I got pulled over for only the 2nd time in my life. Madalyn took a picture while I was showing him my license and registration.
This was Madalyn's facial reaction.

Hayden gets his Arrow of Light

Valentine's Day was very special. Matt took the children outside and took a whole bunch of pictures for me and framed them. You can see some of the pictures in the background of this first photo. We are very blessed as a family and we love each other very much.

Gannon is amazing at 24 piece puzzles.

Barbies for the girls.

Angry bird shirt and key chain.

Heart pancakes.

Bailey used domino's to make this little saying.....And they lived happily ever after.

Hayden turns 11!

The same night of his birthday, he received his Arrow of Light.
He worked very hard.
Way to go buddy!

Tyler and Will stayed with us for a few nights, so Grandma and Grandpa came up to get them and come to Hayden's ceremony.

Hayden had awesome cub scout leaders.

Putting the AofL on my and his Webelos pin.

Proud parents.

Hayden's 3 fellow scouts also got their Arrow of Light.

Glenn Smith and Hayden.

Mom and I made many cupcakes for everyone to have after the ceremony.

We are so proud of Hayden.

Hayden wanted to buy a Kindle Fire for his birthday. He got money to go towards it.
Happy Birthday!
