HAIR CUT

I am so excited this evening. I just got my hair cut and I love it. You probably think that getting your hair cut is no big deal, so why blog about it, and to some of you it might look the same as always, but it is different. Let me tell you, I have been very frustrated with my hair and the way that it was looking. I hadn't gone to a professional for 6 months, so I decided a few weeks ago to make an appointment and go see a woman that I didn't know. I found our about Jodi, when Matt and I took the kids sledding up to Mt. Hood in February and I saw a girl in the rest area parking lot with the cutest hair. So, I said to her, "hey I love your hair who cuts it"? She said, "Jodi, at Wooptidoo in Portland". I got Jodi's number and wooptidoo, I love my hair.
Happy am I!! Last week, I highlighted my hair and did some retouching but it ended up ok in the end. I am just one happy hair girl!!!!

I am giving the trying not to smile look!!! Bailey told me when I got home that she couldn't believe that "the girl" did this to my hair.

Spring Break

WOW, what a great Spring Break!!
Matt and I decided to stay in Oregon and enjoy time with family. We first went to Eugene to see Dad at the hospital and hang out with Mom, Tricia, Darren, and the girls. The cousins love being together and playing with legos, pet shops, army men, barbie, dance off's, and much more!
Warning this blog has tons of pictures!!!

Playing with Lincoln Logs.

Matt and I really wanted to take the kids to the Oregon Coast. On Wednesday, we went to a great campground called Beachside. We were literally right on the beach. We borrowed Mom and Dad's trailer and stayed for 2 nights. The kids had a ball. They played for hours. The boys even found pieces of wood that they made into guns. No shock to their 3 sisters. The girls found "walking" sticks. To top it all off, we had the best weather.

Family Picture

How romantic is this????

Matt took this gorgeous picture! This was our view from our campsite.
Miss Madalyn with her walking stick.

The boys with their machine guns. You should have watched them running around the beach and hiding behind logs while they played army games. Someone had built a fort on the beach and that fort was their main head quarters.

Paige and I on the beach.
After leaving our campground, Matt and I took the kids up to Devil's Elbow. We hiked up the hill to see the lighthouse and the caretakers home. When we were up by the lighthouse we saw whale spouts far out in the ocean. Grey whales were migrating to Alaska. The kids loved seeing the water spouts.

Hiking that hill

After hiking up the hill, we went down to the parking lot to go home and lo and behold our good friends Pat and Leslie Hart were there from Eugene spending a day with their children. It was so awesome seeing them.

Matt and the kids up by the lighthouse. This is the location that we saw the whale spouts.

When we finished camping we went back to Eugene and spent a couple more days with family. We took the kids to Splash and they had a great time. Paige, who was afraid of the water the last time that we went to Splash, loved swimming all around with Natalie.

Carter in the kiddie pool, he would come over and play with Paige and Natalie.

Dad's surgery

Today after church we went to the new hospital in Springfield to visit Dad. The kids love being there and talking to Dad, and touching all of the strange contraptions. Dad is doing well. He falls asleep sometimes and has moments of pain and discomfort, but he has been a real trooper. Today, he walked down the hall and had physical therapy work done on the knee. Keep up the great work Dad!!
We love you. The kids with Grandpa

My Sweet BAILEY

THIS AFTERNOON I PUT PAIGE DOWN FOR HER NAP. AFTER I WAS DONE, I HAD BAILEY GO AND GET A BOOK SO THAT I COULD READ TO HER BEFORE SHE WENT DOWN FOR A NAP. IN MY MIND, I THOUGHT WHAT A SPECIAL LITTLE MOMENT FOR BAILEY AND I. AS I STARTED TO READ, SHE SAID, "MOM YOUR BREATHE SMELLS BAD". I LAUGHED AND SAID, "WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE"? SHE SAID, "BEEF". NOW THAT IS A SMART CHILD. I HAD JUST EATEN A PB&J SANDWICH AND RIGHT BEFORE THE SANDWICH I ATE 2 PIECES OF JERKY.
EACH OF OUR CHILDREN TEACH US SOMETHING NEW. BAILEY IS A STRAIGHT SHOOTER, IF I WAS READING A BOOK TO HAYDEN, HE WOULD HAVE NOT SAID A WORD. (NOW THAT IS OK WITH ME!!!) I HAVE OFTEN THOUGHT ABOUT HOW MANY THINGS SHE DOES THAT REMIND ME OF ME AS A CHILD. NEXT YEAR SHE IS GOING TO KINDERGARTEN AND I AM GOING TO REALLY MISS HER. SHE IS PAIGE'S OTHER LITTLE MOTHER. TIME FLIES BY WAY TO FAST.
ONE AFTERNOON, SHE SAID, "MOM TAKE PICTURES OF ME". SHE HAS QUITE THE PERSONALITY YOU KNOW.
I LOVE IT!!
HAPPY!
SCARED
SAD!

Everyone waiting for the race to begin.
Paige played with play dough at the children's activity table.
We had a concession stand and Bailey is enjoying her sucker.
At the end of the night, I presented all of the boys with an award, Carter is holding his award. The judges voted his tank their favorite derby "car".
We set up an area for the siblings to play legos, color, or do a word search. Carter and Hayden are making lego cars.
